Ken-Ton Teacher Anonymous Public Sharing
This page has been created specifically to give Ken-Ton teachers a safe place to anonymously share information and reports with the public taxpayers about what is really happening in our classrooms and schools.
Ken-Ton teachers regularly tell me that they are too afraid to publicly share the truth about what is happening in our classrooms and schools for fear of losing their jobs. While our country does afford public employees rights of free speech, the threats from district Administrators are so great that taxpayers are NOT getting the whole story. This directly affects our children, our community, and, thus, our lives.
Teachers, please anonymously share your experiences, reports, information and stories with the public. Be VERY careful NOT to include any identifying information. As a suggestion, you may NOT want to mention your school, the grade you teach, your gender, the name or gender of subjects you might refer to, or any other revealing information. This page is designed to PROTECT YOU while still giving you a way to inform the public of the truth. I will publish your post EXACTLY as you write it (with the exception of any profanity, which I will replace with a series of asterisks). If you submit a post and change your mind, please send me a message through the "Contact" tab in the top menu.
I also suggest that you do NOT submit a post or view this page from any school district computers or any time during the work-day. Again, this page is designed to protect you. Submitting a post or viewing this page from school computers could be identified by the school district. District administrators are on the look-out for online employee activity.

It may take some time for this page to gain momentum. Be patient. As time goes on teachers will become more and more comfortable with this format. As this happens, the public will be inclined to bring these topics to the school board. Taxpayers want answers!!! Parents want answers!!! This page has the potential to bring about GREAT CHANGE for all of us.
Here are some of the topics that teachers have told me are major issues that affect children and taxpayers. You may want to address some of them from your own experience. But, please do not feel limited to these topics:
- Science and Social Studies being eliminated to allow time for other unnecessary requirements.
- The time lost to daily teacher data input such as unnecessary and required multiple attendance taking throughout the day, over 50 emails to address per day, Infinite Campus data input, report card data input, reading program data input, math program data input, writing program data input, scoring of each piece for each child, etc.
- Redundant use of assessments wasting more time.
- Requirements to use 'scripted' lesson plans reducing real learning for children.
- Lack of help with technology for teachers wasting more of their time.
- Little time to actually teach children with all of the district mandates.
- Teachers giving up lunch and working overtime without pay to find time to fulfill district mandates.
- It is unreasonable to mandate that teachers have 80% of special education students pass the same SLO tests as other students. This forces teaching to the test.
- Fill-in-the-bubble tests are being used to evaluate teachers in art, music and gym. These are subjects that do NOT warrant use of 'bubble' tests. This forces more teaching to the test in subjects that should allow children to develop other strengths.
Thank you for participating!
