WEIGHT LOSS
In January of 2015 I weighed almost 200 lbs. I refused to go over 200, so I changed my diet and lost 30 pounds in 30 weeks.
But, I was arrogant and lazy about it.
I thought I had figured it all out. But then I couldn't lose the last 20 lbs to get me back to my college weight.
Then around 2018 I moved my office into my house due to some changes in business. I lost another 20 lbs in the next 20 weeks, but I didn't change my diet at all. I concluded it was reduced stress.
Again, I was arrogant and lazy.
Now, in 2025 I realize what was really going on then. I had removed myself from the toxic blue light environment of the corporate office and I started going outside more because I was at home. You see, cholesterol makes pregnenolone, and pregnenolone then makes cortisol, DHEA, progesterone, testosterone, and estrogen from sunlight. But blue light (from LED lights and screens) makes ACTH and CLIP which are both hormones that drive lots and lots of cortisol. Cortisol then drives large amounts of glucose and insulin, both of which make it very, very difficult to lose weight. Insulin tells the body to store, store, store carbs and fat, so it's very hard to lose weight if you keep telling your body to store. Since the blue light is constantly signaling cortisol to be made from pregnenolone you then have little pregnenolone left over to make all the other sex hormones and your balance will be off. Plus, if you have high stress you are signaling MORE cortisol. Plus, if you are not getting sunlight you will be able to make little pregnenolone to begin with, so most of it will become cortisol.
It becomes a big mess. Since then I removed my head out of my butt. I stopped listening to doctors that said all you need to do is eat less and exercise more.
Science is NEVER settled. Science means constantly questioning EVERYTHING, and it means producing experiments that can be openly examined and reproduced. We have lost our way in science. Our way has been hijacked by arrogance and laziness, like how I was.
